If You Need a Visa
Citizens of countries not on the visa-free list need a Chinese tourist visa (L visa). Requirements:
- Valid passport (6+ months validity)
- Completed visa application form
- Recent passport photo
- Flight itinerary and hotel bookings
- Processing time: 4-7 business days
- Cost: $140 (US citizens) / varies by country
144-Hour Transit Visa-Free
Even if your country isn't on the visa-free list, you may qualify for 144-hour (6-day) transit visa-free entry if you're transiting through certain cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and more.
